50 follower milestone tweet ideas that don't sound smug

Milestone posts are risky. Done badly they read like a victory lap that asks for applause. Done well they give something back: a lesson from getting there, a thank-you that names real people, an honest number, or a question that turns the moment into a conversation.

このページのツイートはすべてオリジナルで、そのまま投稿しても、アレンジしてもかまいません。角かっこの部分は自分で埋めてください。

These templates work for [number] followers whatever the number is. Swap in your own figures and specifics. The more concrete the detail (how long it took, which post changed things, what you'd tell yourself at zero), the less it reads as bragging.

Thank-you posts

  1. 01

[number] followers. A year ago I was posting to about 40 people and most of them were bots. Thank you for reading.

  2. 02

Just passed [number]. I don't know most of you personally, but I recognise a lot of names in my replies. That part still surprises me.

  3. 03

Thank you to the [number] people who follow along. Special thanks to the ones who reply when I'm wrong. You're the reason I get less wrong.

  4. 04

hit [number] today. no thread, no lessons, just: thanks. genuinely

  5. 05

To everyone who replied to my early posts when they had zero likes: you have no idea how much that kept me going. [number] now.

  6. 06

[number] followers. Shoutout to the accounts who replied to me first, before any of this: [handle], [handle], [handle].

  7. 07

I set a goal of [number] followers by [date]. Got there [early or late]. Either way, thank you for making it a real place to talk.

  8. 08

Small account, big thanks. [number] of you now. I'll keep posting the stuff I'd want to read.

  9. 09

Crossed [number]. I'm grateful, and slightly nervous that more people will see my typos.

  10. 10

[number] followers. Every one of you chose to see my posts in your feed, which is a strange and nice thing to think about.

  11. 11

Thank you for [number]. If I've helped you with something, I'd love to hear what. If I haven't, tell me what to write about.

  12. 12

[number] people. Bigger than any room I've ever spoken in. Thank you.

What I learned getting here

  1. 13

[number] followers. The thing that worked best wasn't posting more. It was replying to [type of accounts] every day for [number] months.

  2. 14

What got me from 0 to [number]: - replying daily - posting about one topic - not deleting the posts that flopped

  3. 15

The post that changed my account was the one I almost didn't send. It was about [topic]. Lesson: the scary ones are usually the good ones.

  4. 16

At [number] followers, here's what I'd tell myself at zero: stop chasing big accounts and start talking to people at your size.

  5. 17

Took me [number] months to reach [number]. The first half took most of that time. If you're in the slow part, keep going.

  6. 18

Things that didn't work on my way to [number]: threads about productivity, posting at "optimal times", engagement pods. Things that did: being specific.

  7. 19

Biggest lesson from [number] followers: people follow you for a topic, then stay because of how you talk about it.

  8. 20

I posted [number] times before I hit [number]. Most of those posts did nothing. A handful did everything.

  9. 21

What I underestimated: how much growth came from replies. Roughly [share] of my new followers found me in someone else's thread.

  10. 22

[number] followers and the main thing I've learned is that consistency beats cleverness. Posting most days was enough.

  11. 23

If you're stuck under [number], look at your bio. Mine said nothing for a year. I fixed it and follows from profile visits went up.

  12. 24

Learned this at [number]: the posts I write for one specific person do better than the ones I write for "everyone".

Honest numbers

  1. 25

[number] followers. For the record: [number] months, about [number] posts, maybe [number] replies. It's mostly a volume game.

  2. 26

Hit [number]. Also lost [number] followers last month after posting about [topic]. Both are fine.

  3. 27

Milestone post with the full picture: [number] followers, [number] average views per post, and one post that did more than the rest combined.

  4. 28

[number] followers sounds like a lot. In practice, about [number] people see a normal post. Keeps me humble.

  5. 29

Growth chart for my account: flat for [number] months, then a bump after [event], then flat again. Nothing about it was steady.

  6. 30

[number] followers and my best-performing post is still the one where I admitted I was wrong about [topic].

  7. 31

Reached [number]. Revenue from that so far: [amount]. Followers are nice; they're not a business.

  8. 32

From [number] to [number] in [time]. What changed: I stopped writing about [old topic] and started writing about [new topic].

  9. 33

Honest milestone: [number] followers took [number] years. Not fast. Still worth it.

  10. 34

Just checked: about [share] of my followers joined in the last [time]. Hi. Here's what I usually post about: [topic].

Turning a milestone into a conversation

  1. 35

[number] followers. To celebrate, I'll answer any question about [topic] in the replies today. Go.

  2. 36

Hit [number]. Who are you all? Reply with what you work on and I'll follow back the people in [field].

  3. 37

[number] followers today. What should I write more of: [option], [option] or [option]?

  4. 38

New here because of the milestone wave? Here are my three posts I'd read first: [link], [link], [link].

  5. 39

At [number] I'd like to do something useful: reply with a link to your best post and I'll read every one.

  6. 40

[number] people. If you've been following quietly, today's a good day to say hi. What brought you here?

  7. 41

To mark [number]: tell me one thing I've posted that you disagreed with. I'd like to hear the other side.

  8. 42

Celebrating [number] by introducing you to accounts that deserve more followers: [handle] for [topic], [handle] for [topic].

Small and odd milestones

  1. 43

100 followers. Might be the best milestone of all. Every one of you is a person I've talked to.

  2. 44

first post with more than 10 likes. framing it

  3. 45

One year on here. [number] followers, [number] posts, one very patient partner who has heard about all of them.

  4. 46

My most replied-to post ever just happened and it's about [mundane topic]. I do not understand this site.

  5. 47

Today I got my first reply from [type of person I admire]. Followers are nice; that one made my week.

  6. 48

[number] followers in [country or city]. Didn't expect a local audience. Hello, neighbours.

  7. 49

A stranger quoted my post at a meetup and didn't know I was standing there. That's the milestone.

  8. 50

Halfway to [goal number]. Posting this so future me remembers the halfway point felt good too.

刺さるコツ

  • Give something back in the same post: a lesson, a useful link, a question or a shoutout. A milestone that only says "thanks" works once.
  • Use real numbers and real timelines. "Took 14 months" is more useful to readers than "grateful for the journey".
  • Name people when you can. Thanking the accounts who replied to you early is generous and they usually share it.
  • Skip the countdown posts. Announcing that you're close to a number reads as asking for follows.
  • Pin a good post before you celebrate. New people will check your profile, so make sure the top of it shows your best work.
