50 Earth Day tweet ideas that aren't preachy

Earth Day posts tend to fall into two traps: a stock photo of a leaf with a slogan, or a lecture. Neither gets much engagement. What works is the same as any other good tweet: something specific you did, noticed or changed, written in your own voice.

本页所有推文均为原创,供你直接发布或修改使用。方括号标出的是需要你填写的部分。

These 50 ideas are original and grouped into simple actions, honest and funny takes, noticing the outdoors, and posts for businesses. Earth Day is April 22, but the action tweets work any week of the year.

Small things you can actually do

  1. 01

Earth Day plan: fix one thing instead of replacing it. A zipper, a lamp, a wobbly chair.

  2. 02

Small Earth Day swap: carry a water bottle for a week and count the plastic ones you didn't buy.

  3. 03

Before buying something new today, check whether a neighbor or a local group has one to lend.

  4. 04

Picked up litter on my usual walk for 20 minutes. Filled one bag. The street looks noticeably better.

  5. 05

Earth Day idea: cook the vegetables that are about to go bad instead of ordering in.

  6. 06

Unplugged the things I never use and found three chargers attached to nothing.

  7. 07

Walk or bike one trip you'd usually drive this week. Short trips are the easiest place to start.

  8. 08

Checked my closet before shopping and found two shirts I forgot I owned. Earth Day and budget win.

  9. 09

Plant something today, even if it's basil on a windowsill. You'll start paying attention to the weather.

  10. 10

Look up what actually goes in the recycling bin in [your city]. The rules change from place to place and most of us guess.

  11. 11

Earth Day challenge: one week of saying no to free stuff you don't need. Tote bags, pens, samples.

  12. 12

Repair cafes exist and they're wonderful. Find one near you and bring the broken toaster.

  13. 13

Turning the heating down a degree is boring. Earth Day doesn't have to be dramatic to count.

Honest and funny

  1. 14

Earth Day confession: I own enough reusable bags to carry groceries for a small village and I still leave them in the car.

  2. 15

My compost bin has taught me more about patience than any book.

  3. 16

I bought a bamboo toothbrush and now I tell people about it unprompted.

  4. 17

the plant on my desk survived another year. that's my Earth Day contribution and i'm proud of it

  5. 18

Every Earth Day I remember I own a reusable straw. It's in a drawer. It's very clean.

  6. 19

Tried zero waste for a week and learned how much of my life comes wrapped in plastic. Going one swap at a time now.

  7. 20

Doing a few green things imperfectly still beats waiting until you can do all of them perfectly.

  8. 21

Sorting the recycling feels like a quiz I never study for.

  9. 22

My grandparents reused every jar and called it common sense. I do it and call it a lifestyle.

  10. 23

Earth Day goal: stop buying a new notebook for every new project. I have nine half-used ones.

  11. 24

I'm not great at the environmental stuff, but I've stopped printing things I'll read once. Small win.

  12. 25

Honest Earth Day post: I'm not changing everything. I'm changing two habits this year and keeping them.

Getting outside

  1. 26

Went outside without headphones today and heard about six different birds. No idea what any of them are. Learning one this week.

  2. 27

The best Earth Day plan is free: go to the nearest park and stay longer than you meant to.

  3. 28

Take your kids outside and let them pick up every rock and leaf. That curiosity is how people end up caring.

  4. 29

The trees in [your city] are doing something incredible right now and most of us are walking past them looking at our phones.

  5. 30

Earth Day reminder: you don't need a two hour drive to find nature. Look at what's growing in the cracks in the sidewalk.

  6. 31

I've started noticing which trees on my street bloom first. It's become a little calendar.

  7. 32

a walk in the rain on purpose. that's the whole post

  8. 33

Learned the name of the tree outside my window. Feels like finally learning a neighbor's name after years.

  9. 34

Sat by the water for half an hour today. Didn't fix anything. Felt better about most things.

  10. 35

If you've never watched a sunrise on purpose, Earth Day is a fine excuse.

  11. 36

Clean air, a quiet morning, a park within walking distance. Easy to forget those are worth protecting.

  12. 37

Today's plan: find the closest trail, walk it, and bring a bag for any litter on the way. #EarthDay

For businesses and brands

This Earth Day we're sharing what we changed at [your company] this year, and what we still haven't figured out. Thread below.

  2. 39

We switched our shipping boxes to recycled cardboard this year. Small change, and it cost less than we expected.

  3. 40

  4. 41

We're not going to tell you to buy anything for Earth Day. Use what you have. Repair it. We'll be here when you need a new one.

  5. 42

Our products last longer when you look after them. Here's how to clean, store and fix the parts that wear out first.

  6. 43

This year we took the plastic out of our packaging. It took three tries and some long calls with our supplier. Worth it.

  7. 44

Question for our customers: what would make it easier for you to send old products back for recycling?

  8. 45

Earth Day promise from a small team: fewer flights, more video calls, fuller boxes and fewer shipments.

  10. 47

We don't run an Earth Day sale. We use the day to check whether we kept last year's promises. Honest report below.

  11. 48

Behind the scenes: we weighed a month of our packaging waste. It was embarrassing. Here's the plan to halve it.

  12. 49

Tag a local business doing the green stuff quietly and well. We'd like to learn from them.

  13. 50

One thing we learned trying to make [your product] more sustainable: the hardest part was the supply chain, not the product. Here's what we changed.

怎样写才有效果

  • Lead with something you did, not something everyone should do. "I fixed my lamp" invites replies. "We all need to consume less" invites silence.
  • Show the result. A photo of the filled litter bag or the repaired chair does more than any caption.
  • Brands: only post claims you can back up. If you say you cut packaging, say by how much and since when. Vague green claims attract the wrong kind of replies.
  • Humor helps. Admitting you forget your reusable bags makes the rest of your Earth Day posts easier to trust.
  • Use at most one hashtag. On April 22 the main tag is crowded, so a good line does more than the tag.
