50 motivational tweet ideas that don't sound like a poster

Most motivational tweets fail because they could be printed over a mountain sunset. They're true in a vague way and change nothing. The ones people save and share are practical: a smaller first step, a permission, a reframe that applies to tonight.

Todos os tweets desta página são originais, escritos para você postar ou adaptar. Os colchetes marcam as partes a preencher.

These 50 are written that way. Each one is original, short and specific enough to act on. They're grouped by the situation your reader is in, so post the one that matches what you're actually seeing in your replies and DMs.

For hard days

  1. 01

A bad day is one day. You don't have to turn it into a verdict on your whole life.

  2. 02

Some days the win is that you ate a real meal and went to bed on time. Count it.

  3. 03

You are allowed to do the minimum today and still be serious about your goals.

  4. 04

If today went badly, tomorrow's plan is simple: do one thing slightly better than today.

  5. 05

Tired isn't the same as failing. Rest, then check again in the morning.

  6. 06

Most of what you're panicking about tonight will look smaller after breakfast.

  7. 07

You've had bad weeks before. You're reading this, so you got through every single one of them.

  8. 08

When everything feels heavy, shrink the job. Forget "fix my life". Just reply to that one email.

  9. 09

nobody is grading how gracefully you got through this week. just get through it

  10. 10

Feeling behind is often a sign you're measuring yourself against a timeline nobody actually set.

  11. 11

Crying in the car and then going in anyway is a kind of strength nobody prints on a poster.

  12. 12

Be as patient with yourself today as you'd be with a friend who had the same week.

On doing the work

  1. 13

Motivation usually shows up about ten minutes after you start. Start anyway and let it catch up.

  2. 14

The work you do when nobody is watching is the work that compounds.

  3. 15

Lower the bar for starting. Keep the bar for finishing.

  4. 16

You don't need a better system. You need to open the file.

  5. 17

A boring routine you keep beats an inspiring plan you drop by Thursday.

  6. 18

Write the bad first draft. Editing something is far easier than staring at nothing.

  7. 19

If you only work when you feel like it, your output will match your mood. Moods are unreliable coworkers.

  8. 20

Practice the thing badly in public for a year. That's the part most people skip.

  9. 21

Track what you did, not what you planned. The done list is the one that keeps you going.

  10. 22

Twenty focused minutes a day adds up to over 120 hours a year. That's enough to get decent at almost anything.

  11. 23

Effort you can repeat tomorrow is worth more than effort that wipes you out for a week.

  12. 24

the hard part is rarely the work. it's sitting down. so make sitting down easy

  13. 25

Every skill you admire in someone was once something they were embarrassingly bad at.

Starting over and small steps

  1. 26

Starting again doesn't put you back at zero. You keep everything you learned the first time.

  2. 27

You're not too late. You're starting from a different place than you planned, that's all.

  3. 28

Quitting something that doesn't fit you anymore is a decision. Treat it like one.

  4. 29

Pick the smallest version of the goal. Run once around the block. Write one paragraph. Cook one meal at home.

  5. 30

Day one doesn't need a new notebook and a playlist. It needs you to do the first thing.

  6. 31

Broke the streak? Start a new one today. Streaks are a tool, not a judge.

  7. 32

You can be a beginner at 30, 45 or 70. Beginners improve faster than anyone.

  8. 33

The version of you a year from now is built out of very ordinary Tuesdays.

  9. 34

Change one habit at a time. Anyone who changed five at once on January 1st knows why.

  10. 35

Being new at something is uncomfortable. Staying stuck in something you've outgrown is worse.

  11. 36

you don't have to announce the fresh start. just quietly do it for a few weeks

  12. 37

Write down why you're starting. On day 19 you'll need the reminder.

  13. 38

Small steps feel pointless right up until you look back and see how far they went.

For people building something

  1. 39

Your first ten customers don't care how polished it is. They care that it solves their problem.

  2. 40

Ship the version that embarrasses you a little. Save the polish for after people tell you what's wrong.

  3. 41

Nobody thinks about your failed launch as much as you do. Most people never saw it. Launch again.

  4. 42

Doubting what you're building? Talk to one user today. Doubt hates specifics.

  5. 43

Post for the 40 people who read you now. Being consistent with a small audience is how you get a bigger one.

  6. 44

Every "overnight success" I've looked into had a few quiet years nobody saw.

  7. 45

A no from a buyer is information. Collect enough of them and you'll know exactly what to change.

  8. 46

Build in the hours you have, not the ones you wish you had. Two evenings a week is a real schedule.

  9. 47

The point of the first version is to learn something. Finished can come later.

  10. 48

You will never feel ready to charge money. Charge anyway and let your customers tell you the price is wrong.

  11. 49

Keep a folder of kind messages from people you've helped. Open it on the days the numbers are flat.

  12. 50

Comparing your month three to someone's year five is a fast way to quit something good.

Como fazer funcionar

  • Write to one person in one situation. "If today went badly" works because the reader can check whether it applies to them right now.
  • Give an action, however small. A motivational tweet that ends with something to do tonight gets saved. One that ends with a feeling gets scrolled past.
  • Use your own story when you have one. "I quit my first launch after a week" followed by what you'd do differently beats any general advice here.
  • Avoid the words that signal a poster: journey, hustle, grind, dream big, believe. Readers have learned to skim past them.
  • Post these on the days they're true for your audience. Sunday evening and Monday morning are when people are most open to a nudge.
